But the American Association of Malaysia Christmas Charity bazaar just might take a little bit of that stress out of holiday shopping while giving back to several supported wonderful charities. This week, CreaTee would like to share with you our picks of great gifts for kids that does not involve gadgets and yes...they would love and have fun with it too.
These are our top three picks for children’s gift with a difference this season.

We want to start with a fellow social enterprise based here in Malaysia, Maya Nicole Designs. They have wonderfully designed teepees which are, fun and great for kids. Not only are the product design beautiful, the Maya Nicole Teepees are handmade in Malaysia by Burmese women from the Malaysia Karen Organization (MKO). This organization helps Karen people in Malaysia who fled their homeland to escape killings, land mines and forced labor. What makes it more attractive are the fact that their designs are inspired by cities the creators are or have been living in. The have collection based on Jakarta, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Tokyo where local urban scenes are combined with typical images such as public transport, street vendors, animals and colourful fruits.
Their playmat collections incorporates street maps of the different cities. This can serve as a teachable moment while having fun with your kids.
NOOX is also conscious on how these products are produced. They collaborate with small suppliers in the area in order to generate income for local businesses.
