CreaTee's pick for kids gift at AAM Christmas Charity Bazaar 2017

Holiday season is fast approaching, Halloween, Thanksgiving and then the wonderful season of Christmas. What would we get our love ones… It can be a task. But the American Association of Malaysia Christmas Charity bazaar just might take a little bit of that stress out of holiday shopping while giving back to several supported wonderful charities. This week, CreaTee would like to share with you our picks of great gifts for kids that does not involve gadgets and yes...they would love and have fun with it too.

These are our top three picks for children’s gift with a difference this season.

1. Maya Nicole Designs
We want to start with a fellow social enterprise based here in Malaysia, Maya Nicole Designs. They have wonderfully designed teepees which are, fun and great for kids. A teepee for kids will keep them entertained for hours. It  provides kids with a cozy place for them to play and a space for them to get together.  It can be set up outdoor or even indoor.

Not only are the product design  beautiful, the Maya Nicole Teepees are handmade in Malaysia by Burmese women from the Malaysia Karen Organization (MKO). This organization helps Karen people in Malaysia who fled their homeland to escape killings, land mines and forced labor. With every product you purchase you help building futures and you directly support the empowerment of Karen women in Malaysia.

2.  NOOX
NOOX is soft, safe and huggable fabric playmats, soft toys and decorative cushions for kids. What makes it more attractive are the fact that their designs are inspired by cities the creators are or have been living in. The have collection based on Jakarta, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Tokyo where local urban scenes are combined with typical images such as public transport, street vendors, animals and colourful fruits.

Their playmat collections incorporates street maps of the different cities. This can serve as a teachable moment while having fun with your kids.

NOOX is also conscious on how these products are produced. They collaborate with small suppliers in the area  in order to generate income for local businesses.

3. Waaminals
Waaminals is an online retailer and supplier of baby products. They have a range of products and brands under them which includes soft sole leather shoes for babies and toddlers, childrens clothes, baby towels, swim diaper and sun hat set and children backpacks. We love how fun, whimsical, unique and creative the designs are. Oooh so nice and comfy too. Attractive designs more often than not is able to trigger a child’s curiosity and imagination.
